Week 1: July 21-22, 2024

THNIC Academy organized a specialized training course tailored for high school students, entitled “Problem-Oriented Programming”. This course is an advanced course among three program development offerings. Its primary objective is to equip participants with advanced programming skills to tackle more complex problems. The training session was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Akara Prayote, head of the Department of Computer and Information Science, supported by a team of teaching assistants (TA) from the Faculty of Applied Science, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok.
The course began with JavaScript fundamentals, followed by a hands-on session in wireframe design and basic web application development, with emphasis placed on fostering a comprehensive understanding of programming concepts and the application of programming skills.

Week 2: July 27-29, 2024

The second week of training started with programming, where students developed applications such as a cashback app, a calculator, and an XO game. They learned to use various functions and tools as well as computational thinking skills to tackle complex programming problems. On the final day, students participated in a coding competition to solve complex problems and create applications, testing their knowledge and skills acquired during the training program. The winners were:

  1. Mr. Jirathip Tuida from Takpittayakhom school
  2. Mr. Tin Boonrod from Phadungpanya school
  3. Mr. Pongpisit Praserdjarean Takpittayakhom school

The result of the three program development courses organized by THNIC Academy showed that the students had improved their programming skills and could write programs to address given problems. Additionally, many students expressed a keen interest in pursuing advanced studies in computer science in the future.
